// top ten tuesday: ten book to movie adaptations i still need to watch

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish wherein every week we get different topics to talk about. This week's highlight would be "Ten Book To Movie Adaptations That I Still Need To Watch"

1. Paper Towns

I wasn't really a massive fan of the the book "Paper Towns" so I wasn't uberly excited to see when it was out in the cinemas last summer. Needless to say, I will still go and see it for Natt Wolff because he is such a babe.

2. The Scorch Trials

I am a massive fan of the series and the movie itself nada I cant believe I missed this film at the cinemas. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us.

3. Pride and Prejudice

Now I haven't heard anything about this film but it's Jane Austen's book and there's a film adaptation of it therefore I need to see it.

4. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Literally almost everyone has seen this film except me, what am I doing!?

5. Jane Eyre

This has gotten a fairly average rating on iMDB. Now, I haven't read the book too so I don't know what to expect. But I'm hoping that it would be good.

6. The Time Traveler's Wife

Time travelling is something that has always intrigued me and I love Rachel McAdams so I need to see this asap.

7. Alice in Wonderland

This probably falls under the "Classics" category and I really need to read them as soon as I get the time. And of course, see this film, too!

8. The Outsiders

I remember reading and watching this when I was in second year but was out most of the days so I didn't really get understood it.

9. Eragorn

I love dragons! (Who doesn't though?. Now I havent read the series so I've no clue whether it's good or not. I will give it a chance though!

10. I Am Number Four

I haven't seen the film nor read the book so I have no idea what this will be about but the actor on the promotional poster has glowing hands so I'm guessing it's fantasy?

Have any of you seen the film I mentioned? What about read the book it was adapted from? Which one is your favourite? Did you hate anyone of the ones mentioned? Let me know in the comments below :)

  1. I suggest that you watch the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie instead of the remake. Don't get me wrong, I love Johnny Depp but I find the original version better. :)

  4. I haven't seen The Scorch Trials yet but unfortunately I heard that they diverge from the books entirely in this one. :( I might still watch it, but the thing about the first one was I had read it around five years before the movie was released and I still had huge problems with the movie's plot.

  5. I have seen Paper Towns (and read the book) and both were okay. Teenage movie 100% but I found Cara annoying and her acting not good. That might be only me though because everyone loves her.

Scorch trials was okay. I've never read the books so I can't compare them both.

Charlie and the chocolate factory was so good! I love that movie.

Alice in wonderland was okay. Strange, very strange.

Eragon was meh. I love the books so the movie was REALLY a flop. Total meh.

I don't remember I am number 4 although I watched it... but several years ago xD and the rest I haven't seen.

  6. So not a fan of the Eragon movie. The Time Traveler's Wife is decent but it's not as good as the book in my opinion. Both Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre are pretty good though!

  7. I want to see Paper Towns as well. I really REALLY didn't like the book, but maybe it will be better on screen. Usually that's just wishful thinking, but you never know, maybe not! I haven't seen The Scorch Trials yet either and I really want to! Hopefully it will come out soon so I can buy it! I think the only one on your list that I have actually seen is The Outsiders and I would HIGHLY recommend that you see it at your earliest convenience because it is so good! I loved the book so much and the movie is just as good!

  8. That Pride and Prejudice wasn't so bad actually :) It's a very condensed version of the book, but the camera angles and lighting are beautiful! AND JANE EYRE! That's my favorite adaption of Jane Eyre! They actually show a St. John that I LIKE xD ...yeah i was that weirdo who prefered St. John over the main dude. AND I JUST BOUGHT THE OUTSIDERS! I've never seen it before and I never read the book but I need to know who Pony Boy is so I can quote it correctly!
